Photographic Exhibit to be displayed at the Broome County Public Library

     BINGHAMTON, NY - Vietnam after the war. The people, culture and geography of this country can be seen as never before in a pictorial exhibit at the Broome County Public Library, 185 Court Street Binghamton, NY.

Beginning Monday, March 8th visitors to the Library will be able to view Vietnam: Journey of the Heart a collection of 52 photographs taken between 1985 and 2000 by Geoffrey Clifford. Clifford an army lieutenant flew helicopter combat and supply missions in the early 70's during the Vietnam War.

In 1985 Geoffrey Clifford returned to Vietnam and after many visits spanning a 15-year period photographed the people he was never able to meet and the geography he was never able to explore during the war. For him the experience has opened his heart and helped him put the struggle of the battle behind him.

The exhibit, coordinated by The Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service and brought to the Broome County Public Library by the Friends of the Library will be open to the public from Monday, March 8th through Tuesday, March 30th. The Library is open Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Friday's and Saturday's 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. For more information please call 607.778.6400.
