Danielle 5K Run/Walk To Hold Sneaker Collection

     BINGHAMTON, NY - The City of Binghamton Parks and Recreation Department and the Broome County STOP-DWI Program would like to remind the community that there will be a sneaker collection at this year's Danielle 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, May 1st at MacArthur Park in Binghamton.

Danielle 5K Run/Walk organizers are encouraging everyone to bring their unwanted but still usable sneakers to the event. The sneakers will then be distributed to area agencies that serve needy youngsters.

The Danielle 5K Run/Walk day-of registration begins at 8:00 a.m. Sunday, May 1st for the 5K Run at 10:00 a.m. and the 5K Walk at 11:00 a.m.

The Danielle 5K Run/Walk is a joint project between the City of Binghamton and Broome County to promote awareness about the drunk driving problem and raise funds for community STOP-DWI efforts.

This year's event is presented by Crowley Foods, Inc and co-sponsored by The Whale 99.1FM and WILD104, Time Warner Cable, FOX40/WBPN, City of Binghamton Parks and Recreation and Broome County STOP-DWI.
