Free Conference On Hepatitis C And Its Association With HIV

The HIV/AIDS Training Program of the Broome County Health Department will host a free one-day conference to educate professionals who do HIV testing counseling about the growing Hepatitis C epidemic and its relationship to HIV. The featured speaker, Brian Arey, RN, MSN, ANP-BC, Nurse Practitioner and researcher in the Division of HIV Medicine at Albany Medical Center, will present a talk on "Provider Response: How and Why HIV Test Counselors Need to Screen Clients for Hepatitis C."

The conference "Hepatitis C Update for HIV Test Counselors" will take place at the Heritage Country Club and Conference Center, 4301 Watson Boulevard, Johnson City, NY, on Wednesday, September 17, 2003. The conference begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. A free buffet lunch will be provided. Registration is open to all nurses, social workers, drug and alcohol counselors. All participants must be pre-registered. The registration deadline is September 8th.
