(Binghamton, NY) Broome County Executive Debbie Preston teamed up with several others to outline the events in Broome County for the Path through History weekend.
The event, which is part of a larger statewide event, will be Saturday June 18 and Sunday June 19.
“We have such a rich history here in Broome County,” says Broome County Executive Debbie Preston. “For us to look to the future we need to understand our past and this is a great way to learn about the contributions our community has made.”
There are a total of 22 sites in Broome County during that weekend. Events stretch from Nanticoke to Harpursville and several places in between.
Events include photo displays, walking tours, a vintage car show, sacred spirituals and the ride the carousel circuit. Most of the events are free for the public.
“I can’t think of a better way to showcase the storied history of Broome County,” says Judi Hess from the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce. “People will learn about architecture, music, art, vintage vehicles and so much more. This isn’t just an event for little children, it’s a great family friendly event that has something for everyone.”
The local events are part of a statewide program that has more than 250 events planned for that weekend.
