Broome County to Continue Providing Dumpsters for Flood Debris

Broome County to Continue Providing Dumpsters for Flood Debris

After speaking with residents, Broome County Executive Jason Garnar has extended the State of Emergency for those areas affected by flash flooding. In addition, to assist in the removal of household flood debris, the county will keep dumpsters in some residential neighborhoods through Tuesday, August 1.

Broome County is working with the Town of Vestal and Taylor Garbage for this initiative.

Taylor Garbage dumpsters are placed in four locations in Vestal:

Tharp Street

Richards Avenue

Grand Avenue

Kintner Estates

Through Tuesday, August 1, Broome County will continue to waive the tipping fees at the Broome County Landfill for both Taylor Garbage and homeowners with household flood debris.

Homeowners may also apply for a waiver of the tipping fees at the Broome County Landfill for household flood debris through Tuesday, Aug. 1. Household applications are available at Vestal Town Hall.

NOTE: These dumpsters are for household flood debris only. All landfill rules apply including the restriction of white goods (refrigerators, microwaves, etc.), hazardous materials and electronics.
