Broome County to Collect School Tax Payments for Vestal Schools

(VESTAL, NY) Broome County is pleased to announce an agreement with the Vestal Central School District to assist with the collection and enforcement of school district taxes for 2017-2018.

This resolution was approved by the Broome County Legislature at the August session.

“This partnership will not only save the Vestal School District and taxpayers money but it will also generate about $10,000 in revenue for Broome County,” said Jason Garnar, Broome County Executive.

The 2017 school taxes will be collected by Broome County’s Real Property Tax Service. Payments can be made in person and by mail.

In addition, Broome County will be accepting in-person payments at the Town of Vestal Tax Receiver’s office located at 516 Front St., Vestal. Payments will be taken from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays throughout September and October. Payments will also be accepted on Monday, Oct. 2 and Tuesday, Oct. 31. Online payments will not be accepted this year.

The full details for payment options will be included with the tax bill.

Any questions can be directed to the Broome County Office of Real Property Services.

The Vestal Central School District becomes the tenth program to take advantage of this program joining Binghamton (which includes Sunrise Terrace), Chenango Forks, Chenango Valley, Deposit, Johnson City, Maine-Endwell, Susquehanna Valley, Union-Endicott and Whitney Point.
